The easternmost district of the state, Anjaw, located at an altitude of 1,296 metres above sea level, shares its border with China. Anjaw is situated along the banks of the Lohit River, a tributary of the Brahmaputra. The district was created in the reorganisation of the Districts Amendment Bill on 16th February 2004 with Hawai as the administrative headquarters. The district is made up of seven administrative units, which include Chaglogam, Goiliang, Hayuliang, Hawai, Kibithoo, Manchal and Walong. Hayuliang is a famous location in the district at a distance of 100 km from Tezu. The conjunction of Lohit River and the Dalai River provides beautiful views of the landscape. On the other hand, Chaglogam and Walong are popular trekking locations. Kibithoo is a scenic town featuring waterfalls, hot springs and dense forests. The township is inhabited by two main tribes, the Zedkring and the Mishmi who are expert craftsmen. Their crafts are popular as souvenirs. The sub tropical climate makes Anjaw a year round destination though the ideal time to visit is during the summer months of April, May and June.


Hawai tucked at the hillocks surrounded with hills all around. Hawai is the headquarters of the Anjaw District and is situated on the left side of the Lohit River. Located at a height of around 1,296 m above the sea level, it can easily be reached from Hayuliang. The major attraction of Hawai is a Cable Suspension Bridge, also known as Anjaw Bridge, constructed over the Lohit River. According to the Kaman Mishmi dialect, Hawai means a pond.


Hayuliang is a city located in Anjaw in Arunachal Pradesh. The name of the destination means ‘the place of my liquor' and is currently a sub-divisional headquarter. Situated at an elevation of around 750 m, Hayuliang offers a beautiful view of the confluence of Lohit River and Dalai River. Also, tourists can visit nearby places like Namdapha, Roing and Dibru-Saikhowa.


Tucked in the tri junction of Sino-India-Myanmar borders in the easternmost periphery of the state it is famous for receiving the first rays of the sun in the millennium in the country. The picturesque Dong is a dawn to dusk travel distance from the resort.
